Synthetic Turf

Spear’s Landscape recommends using XGrass® products for all of your artificial turf needs. Following is a brief outline of their products:

Bentgrass 30 Synthetic Turf
XGrass®’s shortest outdoor sand-filled artificial turf has a 1" pile height. It holds 5 lbs. of silica sand* per square foot and is ideal for golf putting greens where there are only short pitch and chip shot opportunities.

Bentgrass 38 Artificial Turf
A constant best-seller, this popular XGrass® outdoor sand-filled artificial turf is excellent for building backyard practice putting greens, range target greens, and Par 3 course putting greens. As an added bonus, it can receive long range shots. Pile height is1 3/8" and it holds 8 lbs. of silica sand* per square foot.

1st Cut/Fringe
This XGrass® product is used for fringes on putting greens constructed with Bentgrass 38, or 30. It has 1 ¾" pile height and holds 4-5 lbs. of silica sand per square foot.

Championship Tee Artificial Turf
This top-of-the-line XGrass® artificial turf tee material is used for chipping and tee areas. It can be used for building residential and commercial golf greens. Championship Tee is an exclusive product that is changing the way course superintendents think about synthetic tee areas. A stronger, more durable fiber combined with a specialized round-grain silica infill creates a hitting surface that is extremely realistic and very easily maintained. It has 2" pile height and holds 10 lbs. of silica sand per square foot.

Play Lawn Synthetic Turf
With a pile height of 2 1/2" of polyethylene fiber, this XGrass® synthetic turf product is fast gaining popularity as alternative to natural grass in residential and commercial use. It also is a great product to use as a "second cut" of grass around an artificial putting green. In addition, the Play-Lawn product can be used for sports fields and multi-purpose areas.

Sof-Step Artificial Turf Underlayment by XGrass®
This 100% natural rubber compound is used to provide cushioning under tees, greens, and playground areas. It drains freely and is not affected by water.

Non-Sand-Filled Golf Turf by XGrass®
Non-sand-filled turf for building outdoor or indoor putting greens is also available. These nylon and olefin products are available either with or without an attached cushion backing. These products are for putting only, and do not offer the ability to receive incoming approach shots.

Bunkers
A beautifully placed and well constructed bunker is guaranteed to keep things interesting as you practice your short game on your very own home putting green. A grass or sand bunker can really define a backyard practice area. We use only the best sand and drainage treatments available.

Waterponds
For added interest, we can also turn part of your designated “play area” into a beautiful rock waterfall and pond. We use a closed water filter system driven by a pump, so that the water collected in the pool is sent right back to the top. As an extra bonus, you can decide if you want to treat your new water feature as a hazard or just enjoy it!

Indoor putting greens
It’s easy to create an indoor putting green environment with a small room and little investment. We’d be happy to help you decide what works best for you.
